Benzonia, Mich. (May 1, 2018) – As the weather begins to warm up and spring begins to bloom, a new beginning for Northern Michigan’s popular vacation destination, Benzie County, is taking shape. The Benzie County Visitors Bureau in Northern Michigan has officially adopted a new name and logo to connect the beauty and appeal of the area with visitors’ interests in majestic beaches, lots of blue water and sky, abundant exciting outdoor recreation, stunning natural beauty and a relaxed lifestyle. According to President Mary Carroll of Make it Benzie, “Our new logo and name ‘Make it Benzie’ and new tagline, ‘We are Northern Michigan’ ultimately answers the visitors question ‘Where should I go for the perfect vacation?’”
Carroll adds, “When we began the process of looking for a new name and logo that accurately reflected what this place is all about, we decided that loyal visitors and residents were our best resource. They told us that our beautiful lakes, rivers, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, excellent and abundant outdoor recreation and relaxed lifestyle were our strongest assets and the reasons they had chosen to make Benzie County their vacation getaway. Our new name and logo – ‘Make it Benzie’ paired with our new tagline, ‘We are Northern Michigan’ welcomes visitors to a place that fulfills and exceeds their vision of what a Northern Michigan vacation experience should be.”
Kevin Gillespie, President and Owner of Greenlight Marketing who helped with the new name and logo ‘Make it Benzie’ says, “There’s a real love affair with Northern Michigan and all it has to offer. No county in Michigan embraces this more than Benzie. No matter what type of vacation visitors are looking for, Benzie has all the amenities to satisfy and deliver on their vision.”
Gillespie adds, “Benzie has an abundance of water including two major rivers, over 50 lakes and Lake Michigan defining one of its borders. Benzie is also a wonderful county with a friendly approachable vibe. It has a wide range of assets for any visitor’s needs. It is a place that is beautiful and tranquil where you can see the stars at the night, enjoy campfires on the beach and unplug from your phone with a good book. There are also things to do here that are exciting and wild such as water skiing, snowboarding, and hang gliding off the bluffs. There’s easy access to brew pubs, wineries, distilleries and eateries that are relaxing and fun. And along with this carefree ambiance, Benzie has all of the modern amenities, such as wifi and atm’s that visitors need and love to enjoy on their vacations.”
“By listening carefully to what visitors told us they were looking for in a Northern Michigan vacation, our new name, ‘Make It Benzie’ and our tagline ‘We are Northern Michigan’ answers the question beautifully and succinctly.
