The historic Garden Theater in downtown Frankfort is celebrating ten years of award-winning, international films. The 10th Annual Frankfort Film Festival, presented by Northway Orthodontics, is happening Thursday, October 18 through Sunday, October 21.
The 2018 Frankfort Film Festival will screen 17 films from around the globe, including Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, the People’s Choice Award winner at the 2018 Boulder International Film Festival, In The Fade, the 2018 Golden Globe winner for Best Foreign Language Motion Picture, and Three Identical Strangers, winner of the Special Jury Prize for documentary storytelling at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
“This year marks ten years of incredible movies here in Frankfort and we’re celebrating with some of the best films that have won awards at other international film competitions, including Sundance and Cannes,” says Rick Schmitt, co-creator of the Frankfort Film Festival. “We take pride in the amazing comradery and friendliness of our film festival experience, and the timing couldn’t be better for our guests to enjoy exceptional fall colors during their time in Frankfort.”
Festival goers will also enjoy short films produced by students of Interlochen Arts Academy's Motion Picture Arts program, in addition to the top three winning short films from The Garden’s annual Frankfort48 Film Festival. Plus, audiences are invited to take part in Q&A sessions with the filmmakers from three of this year’s films: The Sentence, All Saints, and Clark Park. Each Q&A session will immediately follow the film screening.
Passes to the four-day film festival are $95 for entry to every film. Festival Passes can be purchased at the Garden Theater box office. Individual tickets to each movie are $10 and can be purchased one-hour in advance of each showing. A listing of the festival schedule is available online at Frankfortgardentheater.com/film-festival.
