The Interlochen Arts Festival is one component of the nonprofit Interlochen Center for the Arts, an internationally renowned educational community that encompasses: 

  • A 2,500-student summer arts camp program
  • A 500-student fine arts boarding high school
  • Year-round opportunities for hundreds of adults to engage in fulfilling artistic and creative programs
  • Two 24-hour listener-supported public radio stations (classical music and news)
  • More than 600 arts presentations annually by students, faculty and world-renowned guest artists
  • A global alumni base spanning eight decades, including a galaxy of arts luminaries.

Interlochen’s Summer Arts Festival

Arts lovers, lifelong learners and the world’s most talented and motivated young people are drawn to Interlochen from all over the country and all over the world to celebrate and create excellence in creative writing, dance, motion picture arts, music, theatre, visual arts and academics, presentations and public broadcasting. This cultural fusion creates an exhilarating energy with global impact.

Interlochen’s Summer Arts Festival brings a world of superb presentations to the doorstep of northwest lower Michigan. Set amid a bustling living-learning campus, Interlochen offers an unparalleled performance environment. Interlochen Arts Camp attracts students, faculty and staff from all 50 U.S. states and more than 40 countries, filling Interlochen’s northwoods campus with an explosion of creativity and inspiration. The public is invited to experience the inspiring setting when attending a performance on campus. A variety of food options are available starting two hours prior to guest artist concerts in Kresge Auditorium. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, stroll the grounds and visit to the visual arts gallery, enjoy some delicious Moomers ice cream, and shop for souvenirs at the Interlochen Scholarshop.
